Tóchar na Coiribe - Corrib Causeway

Vision for the Proposed Development of the Dyke Road Site

Introduction

The Land Development Agency (LDA), in partnership with Galway City Council, is delighted to announce this exciting Corrib Causeway project, on Dyke Road.

The Corrib Causeway project proposes to bring forward regeneration plans for a residential-led, mixed-use development that seeks to harness and enhance the adjacent blue and green infrastructure of the River Corrib corridor. The project represents an opportunity to develop an underutilised brownfield site, strategically located adjacent to Galway City Centre.

The project vision seeks to deliver affordable and social high-quality apartments, as well as commercial, civic and cultural amenities benefiting the wider local community.

The LDA has published a Vision Document (available below) outlining a first phase for the Corrib Causeway project, with the ambition to lodge a planning application for Phase 1 in Q3, 2024. Prior to this, The LDA will be providing a number of opportunities for public and community engagement throughout the development process in order to encourage involvement and facilitate feedback as the design progresses.  We are now inviting interested parties to comment and provide feedback to our dedicated project Community Liaison Office, details of which are found on this website.
